Specific Psychiatric Hold Rooms
Annual Emergency department visits (2017): 32,247
Approximately 10% are pediatric

In this position, you will:
Assist and work directly with nursing, medical and interdisciplinary staff to ensure the delivery of quality, cost-effective, efficient care.
Demonstrate a wide range of general nursing, unit-specific and leadership skills, including the application of the nursing process across the life span, and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
Be accountable for the direct and indirect quality care for patients according to the individualized needs of the patient.
Provide leadership for the operation of the nursing unit, and work collaboratively on hospital throughput.
Be accountable to organize, prioritize, direct, and evaluate the delivery of patient care on a specific unit for any given shift.
Lead and develop staff by role modeling professional practice and effective leadership skills.
Provide input into, and help achieve, unit specific goals, along with hospital, regional and system initiatives.
Fulfill role expectation and principle duties of the Registered Nurse job description including direct patient care.
Role model and mentor staff toward independence in practice, accountability for outcomes and coordination of the multidisciplinary team.
Act as a clinical resource and advocate.
Create an atmosphere of confidence and organization in an environment with multiple stimuli.
Assume duties in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification and/or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) Annually
2-3 years of clinical experience in an emergency department setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN)
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification
Prior formal or informal leadership roles
Experience as a preceptor/mentor
