In this position, you will:
Assist and work directly with the nursing staff to ensure the delivery of quality, cost-effective care to patients.
Demonstrate a wide range of general nursing, unit-specific and management skills, including application of the nursing process.
Provide leadership for the operation of the nursing unit.
Lead and develop staff by role modeling professional practice and effective management skills.
Provide input into and helps achieve unit goals.
Fulfill role expectations and principle duties of the Registered Nurse job description.
Support the philosophy of nursing and goals of the institution.
Be accountable to organize, prioritize, direct and evaluate the delivery of patient care on a specific unit for a given shift. In a composed and confident manner, role models and mentors staff toward independence in practice, accountability for outcomes and coordination of the multidisciplinary team.
Act as a clinical resource and advocate.
Create an atmosphere of confidence and organization in an environment with multiple stimuli.
Assume duties in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
Required qualifications for this position include:
RN licensure by the Oregon State Board of Nursing
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
3 years of clinical nursing experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelors of Nursing (BSN)
Certification in Medical Surgical
Proven supervisory experience
Experience in training and staff development
