We are seeking a Dietitian - Dietary who will work closely with the departmental and interdisciplinary health care team to provide inpatient and outpatient care that is integrated and compatible with patient-centered medical goals and objectives. Utilizes the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology (NCPT) to assess nutrition status, identify nutrition diagnoses, performs nutrition-focused physical examination, interprets results and makes nutrition diagnoses, orders nutrition and diet orders, designs and implement nutrition care plans and evaluate outcomes of nutrition care plans for patients who are at nutrition risk or malnourished. Provides medical nutrition therapy and professional nutrition counseling methods to patients, families and the community.
A Dietitian who will apply evidence-based practice guidelines, instructional methods and tools in clinical practice. Utilizes nutrition-related information systems and patient medical record systems to successfully coordinate patient nutrition care and dining experiences.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Assess patients current nutritional status and needs in conjunction with the physician, health care staff, patients and/or families to ascertain best nutrition plan.
Develop and implements nutrition care plan to meet identified patient nutrition-related outcomes.
Monitor ongoing patient nutritional needs, recommending appropriate modifications in medical nutrition therapy as indicated.
Document and clearly record nutrition plans in medical record following standards of care and approved charting format.
Assist in the development of educational programs and literature to support healthy nutrition habits and life styles.
Maintain and enhance personal expertise through appropriate educational experiences assimilating new knowledge into practice. Maintain registration with American Dietetic Association.
Abide by the Professional Standards of the American Dietetic Association.
Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and in multidisciplinary teams as appropriate and requested.
Demonstrate ability to plan, prepare, and present information to individuals and small groups.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
Registered or registration-eligible with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
License to practice in the State of Oregon required.
Dietitians eligible to take the ADA approved registration examination must successfully complete the examination and become registered within 6 months of hire date
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 1 year experience in clinical setting for generalist.
