Providence Health & Services Medical Staff Coordinator in Milwaukie, Oregon
Providence is calling a Medical Staff Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Milwaukie Hospital in Milwaukie , OR.
We are seeking a Medical Staff Coordinator who will be coordinate all professional staff activities related to credentialing, initial appointments and reappointments, and privileging. The Coordinator acts in the role of liaison to Professional Staff, Nursing, Quality Management, and Administration with the parameters established by the ministry Quality Directors and Program Managers for Medical Staff Services throughout Oregon Region Quality & Medical Staff Services division.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Perform various administrative assignments and clerical duties in support of Professional Staff leadership and committees.
Perform timely processing and ongoing monitoring of temporary privileges in accordance with departmental policies and procedures and Professional Staff Bylaws, Policies & Procedures across the Oregon Region.
Coordinate appointment and re-appointment processes.
Enter, update, and maintain computerized information of Professional Staff members and Allied Health Practitioners for Oregon Region.
Oversee maintenance of professional staff data base and relevant data entry. Generate multiple reports and rosters.
Actively contribute to and perform medical staff and credentialing and privileging functions for the Oregon Region as assigned.
Manage aspects of credentialing within the more broad, state-wide organization on behalf of the individual ministries, which may include appointment and reappointment management, development and maintenance of privilege criteria and TeleHealth.
Coordinate with QMMS Director on preparing for and participating with The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory surveys.
Demonstrate understanding and utilization of tones, tools and behaviors that promote patient safety in a highly reliable organization.
Coordinate and prepare for Professional Staff activities, scheduling, agenda, minutes, supporting documents, securing signatures, and preparing correspondence.
Maintain annual and monthly calendars as needed.
Oversee the orientation of new Professional Staff, Department Chairs and leadership. Communicate completion to individual ministry and Regional Credentials Committee.
Participate and contribute to the Oregon Region work groups as assigned.
Manage and oversee budgeting for Professional Staff funds. Responsible for financial transactions of professional staff for collection of annual staff dues, financial accounting, bill payment, and communicating dues status to Medical Executive Committee.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or GED
Two (2) years college or business school coursework
Demonstrated experience in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, with healthcare practitioners, all levels of hospital management and with the public
Proficiency in use of medical terminology
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Three (3) years experience as Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist or Coordinator
Certified Medical Staff Coordinator (CMSC) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS)
