Providence is calling a Non-Registered Radiology Technologist to Diagnostic Imaging Administrative Support at Providence Milwaukie Hospital in Milwaukie , OR. This is an on-call (0.0 FTE), rotating/variable shift position.

We are seeking a Non-Registered Radiology Technologist - Diagnostic Imaging Administrative Support who will perform multiple imaging procedures to assist physicians in the detection and diagnosis of disease and injuries.

In this position, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Imaging exams are performed with consideration given to consistently provide care appropriate to the age of the patient including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric

  • Demonstrate competence in interpreting patient's behavior and information with understanding of chronological maturation and individual development.

  • Attendance and Punctuality: Report to work as scheduled and on time

  • Time away from work is approved and taken in accordance with established policy

  • Demonstrated ability to perform all imaging examinations observing proper procedures and protocol, when performing procedures that require supplies, technologist ensures that no delay in patient care will occur by always having extra supplies on hand

  • Introduce self and explains exams

  • Answer patient's questions without causing alarm

  • Respond to patient's physical and emotional needs

  • Check exam for appropriateness with diagnosis

  • Consistently produces images of optimum quality for medical interpretation

  • Practice appropriate safety measures for all imaging modalities

  • Obtain patient medical history

  • Complete all required paperwork associated with patient work-up to include after hour exams, all patient log and complete film release data

  • Clean-up rooms and other work areas after each use

  • Complete 90% of assigned exams in a timely manner

  • Monitor images for loss of quality

  • Conduct quality control on equipment regularly as required

  • Clear work area after each patient

  • Help clerks with their duties when not busy

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • High School Diploma -OR- GED

  • Current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging Temporary License (OBMI)

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) certification

  • Computer skills and knowledge of keyboard functionality

  • Knowledge of various types of X-ray machine operations

  • Working knowledge of a hospital based Radiology Department and interactions with other departments, nursing units and physician offices
